449 Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the position regarding the extention of time on planning applications (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28408/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraUnder section 34(9) of the Planning and Development Act 2000-2004 an applicant, within 8 weeks of receipt of the application by the planning authority, may consent in writing to an extension of the period for the planning authority to make its decision. In such a case the period for making the decision is extended for the period consented to by the applicant. I am not aware of any particular difficulties arising from the operation of this provision.
