Ceist:

96 Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if it is acceptable that an organisation faces having to pay a considerable fee a second time in respect of a public advertisement process (details supplied); if there are financial subventions available to assist with the second incidence in view of its high cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Public participation is a necessary and important feature of the foreshore assessment process conducted by my Department. Detailed instructions were issued to the applicant in writing on how information relating to the application was to be made available to the public. Unfortunately, the applicant has not complied with those instructions and my Department is now considering the matter in consultation with the applicant before deciding on the most appropriate next steps.
