146 Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he will consider advertising standards in relation to non commercial advertising with particular reference to the recent contentious and objectionable advertising campaign conducted by an organisation (details supplied). Amharc ar fhreagraThe matter of advertising on billboards does not come within the remit of the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources and I have no role in that regard. My role in providing a governance structure for advertising extends only to broadcast media, and to a small component of online advertising, that of video on demand. I understand that the subject matter of this advertisement campaign is a matter for the Department of Health.
