95 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will review, approve or refer to appeal the application for carer’s allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [32937/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe order to qualify for carer's allowance the applicant must meet the qualifying conditions, one of which is that the carer must not be employed or self-employed outside the home for more than 15 hours per week. The application from the person in question was refused on the grounds that they are working/self-employed outside the home in excess of 15 hours per week. The person in question will be contacted directly to explain the situation and her options should she decide to reduce her hours to take up full-time caring duties.
