110 Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of primary and post-primary school students in Dublin 5, 13 and 17 who avail of the school transport scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [35840/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraBus Éireann which operates the School Transport Schemes, on behalf of my Department, has advised that in the school year 2011/12 over 3,000 primary and 900 post primary children were issued with tickets for school transport in the greater Dublin area. These figures include children with special educational needs.
The breakdown of these figures by individual postal areas is not readily available.
