Deputy Brendan Smith asked the Minister for Transport; Tourism and Sport the number of clubs in counties Cavan and Monaghan which submitted applications under the 2012 sports capital programme; when decisions will be made on these applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department has received over 2,350 applications for funding under the 2012 Sports Capital Programme. A total of 61 applications were received from County Cavan and 48 applications from County Monaghan. Departmental officials have started processing the applications and this process will take some time due to the volume of applications received. I expect to be in a position to announce the successful applicants later this year.
