Deputy Joe Higgins asked the Minister for Communications; Energy and Natural Resources the reason that when Bord Na Móna made a number of employees redundant in September 1992 the company's superannuation committee instead of preserving the pensions of the redundant employees reimbursed them their contributions minus tax; and the reason that no employers contributions were included in the pension reimbursement.
