Ceisteanna (137)

Michael Lowry

Ceist:

137. Deputy Michael Lowry asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the reasons for the delay in replacing the crime prevention officer in the Tipperary division; the length of time this position has now been vacant; if other crime prevention officers have been replaced in other divisions; the reason such a position can be immediately replaced in one division and not another; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will be aware that the Commissioner, in consultation with his senior management team, is responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, throughout the organisation, and I have no direct function in the matter.

I have asked the Commissioner for an update on the points raised, and on receipt, I will immediately get in touch with the Deputy.
