259. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding an application in respect of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44702/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe redeployment arrangements at primary level include provision for the appointment of a panel officer to deal with any difficulties in relation to the operation of redeployment panels. These arrangements were formally agreed centrally with the education partners (school management bodies and the INTO) in January 2009. Under these arrangements the decision of the panel officer is binding on all parties. A Panel Officer was appointed on 20 September to adjudicate on the filling of a vacancy in the school referred to by the Deputy by a teacher on the subsidiary special national panel. The Panel Officer, having consulted with all the relevant stake-holders made his decision available to the Patron, the Board of Management of the school and my Department on 12 October, 2012. It is now a matter for the school concerned to fill the vacancy in accordance with the Panel Officer's decision.
