208. Deputy Peter Mathews asked the Minister for Education and Skills the numbers and grades of persons, by university, who have been offered a post and have subsequently not taken the post as a result of discussions on salary levels each year since 2009; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Universities are autonomous statutory bodies and my Department has no function in their operational management, including matters relating to the recruitment of college staff. The information requested by the Deputy is therefore not available in my Department or the Higher Education Authority.
