Ceisteanna (350)

Simon Harris

Ceist:

350. Deputy Simon Harris asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if there is any mechanism in place for a person whose motor tax lapsed whilst they were in hospital for an extended period of time and who now wants to re-tax the car excluding the months that they were in hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is an administrative arrangement in place whereby the owner of a vehicle may be exempted from motor tax for any full month or months during which the vehicle has not been in use in a public place. The relevant form for completion is RF100A which is available for download from the Department’s website www.environ.ie, from any motor tax office, and which should also be available from any Garda station.
