469. Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Health if it is ethical for a doctor to refuse a patient a medical examination required to join a sporting organisation because they do not agree with the sport in question; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11010/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraConsultations by general practitioners with private patients are a matter of private contract between the clinicians and the patients. If the matter raised by the Deputy relates to a medical card holder and the Deputy has more information on this case, I will be happy to ask the HSE to investigate the matter.
