This year I allocated some €5.777 million to Kerry County Council in respect of the various measures supported under my Department’s Social Housing Investment Programme. In July 2012, I approved €420,000 for the construction of rural houses in the county over the period 2012–2014 and this is reflected in the Council’s capital allocation for 2013. Given the existing high level of commitments under the housing programme it is not possible to approve additional construction projects at this time.
