393. Deputy Billy Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding a new school building (details supplied) in County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16343/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to advise the Deputy that officials from my Department have been in ongoing discussions with Co. Wicklow VEC regarding a permanent site for the school to which he refers. Given the sensitivities associated with land acquisitions generally, I am not in a position to comment further at this time in relation to the proposed acquisition of an identified site. However, as soon as a site has been secured, the progression of the development of a permanent school building on the site will be considered in the context of the available capital budget for school buildings generally.
