482. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if an application for Garda vetting which was submitted in February in respect of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 will be finalised as soon as possible in view of the fact that the applicant cannot take up a community employment position until the process is completed. I am informed by the Garda authorities that a vetting application on behalf of the individual referred to was received by the Garda Central Vetting Unit (GCVU). The application was processed and returned to the Registered Organisation in question on 18 June 2013.
