94. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Finance the amount of deposit interest retention tax collected in 2011; if he will provide in tabular form the amount of DIRT collected by each financial institution liable for collection of the tax in 2011; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can inform the Deputy that €473 million was collected in respect of DIRT in 2011. However, I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that their obligation to observe confidentiality for taxpayers and small groups of taxpayers precludes them from providing the information requested in respect of each financial institution.
