536. Deputy Joan Collins asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will meet with the family of a person (details supplied) to discuss the need for an independent inquiry into the person's murder. [5294/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am aware that there has been considerable correspondence over many years in relation to the tragic case referred to by the Deputy. The matters in question have been the subject of investigation and review by the Gardaí, including a re-examination of the case which took place following contact between the family and a Garda Superintendent from outside the District concerned. The case referred to is also among a number of submissions handed in to my office in October 2013. My Department is concluding its examination of the documentation submitted in this regard and I will be responding to the person concerned in the very near future.
