171. Deputy Noel Harrington asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his plans to provide to an applicant a tracking service for all applications to his Department and agencies under the aegis of his Department from members of the public for such items as farm payments, forestry grants, licences and grants in the food and marine sector and other applications processed by his Department similar to the passport applications tracking scheme processed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is constantly examining ways of improving service to our customers. In this regard my Department's online application facility for certain payments has been developed over the last number of years to incorporate new features including a tracking system for certain elements of applications for the Single Farm Payment. My Department will continue to build on and enhance existing systems with a view to facilitating the provision of the most up to date information to clients.
