48. Deputy Brian Stanley asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his plans for local community development programmes; and the way they will impact on existing schemes. [11777/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraLocal Community Development Committees will be established in all local authority areas in line with the provisions of the Local Government Reform Act 2014. Consistent with the plans to enhance the alignment between local government and local development, they will oversee community and local development programmes funded by my Department. They will also be responsible for the development of the community elements of City/County Local Economic and Community Plans, with a view to bringing greater co-ordination to publicly-funded local development programming in their areas. The Committees will involve statutory and not-statutory partners, including local authority elected members, community representatives, state agencies and local development bodies.
