Ceisteanna (214)

Clare Daly

Ceist:

214. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health his views regarding hospitals using unregulated debt collection companies to pursue sick persons for outstanding hospital charges, including sending a letter to a person (details supplied) who had paid half and made an arrangement with the hospital for the remaining €50, but received two threatening letters from a debt collection agency, the second asking the person who was going to know if he did not pay immediately.
