420. Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the total number of asylum applicants awaiting a decision at first instance and on appeal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [28177/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs at 31 May 2014, the number of asylum applicants awaiting a decision at first instance in the Office of the Refugee Applications Commissioner (ORAC) was 358, whereas some 828 cases are currently awaiting a decision at appeal stage in the Refugee Appeals Tribunal (RAT).
