Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in view of the deferral announced by European Union Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Phil Hogan, for the milk superlevy, the payment schemes his Department will put in place for affected dairy farmers, for the period 2015 to 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is currently finalising the detailed rules of a Scheme to give effect to the measures set out in the recent EU Commission Regulation allowing Member States to facilitate the payment by milk producers of their super levy over three instalments. The Regulation obliges Member States to pay the full amount of super levy liability to the Commission in the current year.
I expect to be in a position to announce details of a Scheme very shortly.
