Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health if he will provide, in tabular form, the total amount of moneys collected in each of the years 2011 to 2014 and in 2015 to date from private patients using public hospital services, providing this as a percentage of total income and as a percentage of actual cost of services used; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available. However, the Health Service Executive has been asked to examine this matter and to reply to the Deputy as soon as possible.
