Deputy Jack Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the position regarding a claim to have a child dependency payment on a jobseeker's allowance claim backdated to September 2015 in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The person concerned was paid the child dependent allowance (CDA) from the date her application for payment was received, i.e from 2 April 2015, up to the end of May 2015 when college finished. Arrears can only be paid from the date application is received from the claimant.
