Deputy Alan Kelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason only 33% of the funding received by the Irish Greyhound Board, which is the betting levy tax, is going into prize money while Horse Racing Ireland invest 68% of its equivalent funding back into prize money. Bord na gCon is a commercial State body, established under the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958, chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry.

The details requested by the Deputy are operational matters for Bord na gCon.
