Ceisteanna (531)

Clare Daly

Ceist:

531. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the cost to the State of the request by An Garda Síochána in July 2016 for new roadside breath test devices to have functional capacity to collect specific types of information and data which An Garda Síochána had previously requested (details supplied) in view of the fact that this request, so late on in the procurement process which was at that point 80% complete, set back the whole process by 12 to 15 months. This is a matter for the Medical Bureau of Road Safety. I have referred the question to the Bureau for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within ten days.
