545. Deputy Darragh O'Brien asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport when his Department will complete the strategy for the future development of greenways; when it will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42646/17]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, my Department undertook a public consultation process during the Summer to inform the development of a new Greenway Strategy. Many submissions were received from both citizens and stakeholders expressing strong support for the development of the Strategy. My officials are currently reviewing the submissions and are meeting with other Government Departments and Agencies with a role in this area.
My Department is aiming to have work on the Strategy completed by the end of the year. It will be published in due course, following its completion.
