490. Deputy Jackie Cahill asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the spaces that will be available from 1 February 2018 on ferries for live exports in comparison with 1 February 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4076/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraShipping companies engaged in roll-on roll-off transport endeavour to assist all Irish export businesses including livestock exporters. The number of berths maintained by shipping companies is a commercial matter for the companies themselves. Officials of my Department have been working closely with the shipping companies in recent months to ensure that the greatest facilitation possible is afforded to livestock exporters in the important Spring period.
