Amharc ar fhreagraIn January 2015, the then Secretary General of my Department established a Working Group to examine options for the future use of the Thornton Hall site. The group comprises officials from my Department, the Office of Public Works and the Irish Prison Service. It is tasked with reviewing potential options for the lands and house at Thornton and to make recommendations on how best to maximise value to the State.
I am awaiting the Working Group's Report, in advance of which I am not in a position to indicate the possible future use of the site.
