255. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if an exceptional needs payment will be considered to assist a person (details supplied) in respect of mortgage and other exceptional costs associated with their particular situation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Person concerned has not lodged an application for a Supplementary Welfare Allowance (SWA) to date. Since this person has now made an enquiry in relation to S.W.A. an application has been sent to them for completion, on its return a decision will be made be a Designated Person.
