175. Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Education and Skills the estimated average and full year cost per apprentice over a calendar year in State-funded craft and consortia led apprenticeships based on the latest data and participation levels. [20096/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraIt is estimated that the cost of training an apprentice in one of the existing craft apprenticeships is approximately €6,700 per annum and the cost of training an apprentice in one of the new consortia led apprenticeships is approximately €5,100 per annum. The estimated annual cost of new consortia led apprenticeships may be subject to further refinement as greater numbers of these new programmes become operational.
