Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Finance the estimated revenue that would be generated through increasing the tax on cigarettes by €0.10, €0.20 and €0.50 per packet, respectively, with a pro rata increase on other tobacco products; and the estimated impact on the net fiscal space for 2019. This Ready Reckoner shows a wide range of detailed information, including estimates for the yield from changes in duties on tobacco (page 22). These estimates assume pro-rata increases in other tobacco products.
