Enterprise Ireland does not require a company to pay the living wage to staff as part of its conditions of giving grants to companies. However, while the agency does not collect data relating to salaries paid at the individual level, data collected as part of its annual ABSEI survey show that the average payroll per employee across the EI client base actually exceeds the living wage. It was €50,100 in 2017 which compares favourably to the national average annual earnings in 2017 which was €37,646, according to the Earnings and Labour Costs Annual Data published in June 2018.

Question No. 198 answered with Question No. 196.
