85. Deputy Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the change in greenhouse gas emissions expected to result from each of the road projects included in the National Development Plan 2018-2027. [45641/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraWhile I have no function or role in assessing the change in greenhouse gas emissions expected to result from specific road projects, I can advise that it is the responsibility of the sponsoring road authority and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to comply with relevant statutory requirements regarding the impact of road projects on the environment. In this context Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) arising from Directive 2011/92/EU, as amended by Directive 2014/52/EU, which are published as part of the statutory development consent process, include an assessment of the effects of the proposed development on air quality and climate.
