44. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if a person can be discharged from service at their request when there is an A7 complaint pending against them; the Defence Forces procedures in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [48780/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe provisions for discharge of enlisted personnel are set out in Defence Forces Regulation (DFR) A.10 made pursuant to the Defence Act 1954 (as amended). The Regulations set out the specific details required to be met to effect a discharge such as reasons, conditions and prescribed military authority for effecting the discharge.
