590. Deputy John Curran asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the way in which her Department and Tusla are supporting families with non-violent resistance training to address child-to-parent violence. [53293/18]
Amharc ar fhreagraTusla Family Support Centres engage with parents and children with a range of difficulties and either provide direct services or signpost them to relevant services for advice, intervention, support and training, as appropriate to their needs. Examples include parenting training, addiction services, and domestic violence services. Tusla do not have a role where adult children are proving a threat to parents, and in such circumstances parents would be advised to contact relevant services which could include the supports provided by An Garda Síochána, when violence is involved.
