52. Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if funding will be provided for the recruitment of one additional full-time clinical psychologist for the Defence Forces; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3116/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are currently two full-time clinical psychologists employed by the Defence Forces. This number was increased following the review of mental health services for the Defence Forces in 2017, which recommended the appointment of a civilian psychologist in addition to the existing Defence Forces psychologist. There are no plans currently in place to recruit a third clinical psychologist.
