Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the funding his Department or agencies under the remit of his Department have provided to projects in County Galway in each of the years 2016 to 2018 and to date in 2019, respectively; if the funding has been allocated; if it has been drawn down in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Electric Vehicle Toll Incentive Scheme, electric vehicle drivers passing the toll on the M6 Galway to Ballinasloe are eligible for a discounted toll on each journey up to a maximum €500 annual threshold for private vehicles and €1000 for commercial vehicles.
Under the Electric Small Public Service Vehicle (SPSV) Grant Scheme, one SPSV driver from Roscommon received a grant of €3,000 in 2018 towards the purchase of an electric vehicle.
Details of all allocations and payments under the Sports Capital and the Local Authority Swimming Pool Programmes are published on the Department’s website on: http://www.dttas.ie/sport/english/sport-unit-1-sports-capital-programmes-division. Details of payments made in 2019 will be published early in 2020 once the payments have been finalised and reconciled.
