Deputy Jan O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of SUSI grants awarded in each academic year since 2011-2012 to 2018-2019; the number of students receiving an award in each rate of award per year by categorisation, for example, PLC, undergraduate and postgraduate; the number receiving the grant in terms of class of applicant, that is, dependent or independent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. However, the number of grant recipients categorised by PLC, undergraduate and postgraduate for the academic years 2011/12 to 2017/18 is attached. The data encompasses students in receipt of a SUSI grant and grants from the other 66 awarding authorities who have continued to process renewal applications on a transitionary basis, pending the full transfer of all grants to SUSI.
