Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the domestic and EU wide obligations placed on ferry companies in the event of a cancellation; if there is an obligation to pay compensation to passengers similar to airlines; if so, the level of compensation that is required; if there is an obligation to provide viable alternatives for passengers; the responsible State organisation responsible for monitoring the compliance with these obligations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
