697. Deputy Martin Kenny asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if a person (details supplied) was entitled to an arrears payment for invalidity pension in 2013 from the date of application; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26068/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for an invalidity pension (IP) was received from the gentleman in question on 08 April 2013. He was awarded IP with effect from 11 April 2013 and received his first payment to his nominated post office on 30 May 2013. Arrears due from 11 April 2013 to 29 May 2013 issued to him by cheque on 06 August 2013. He is in receipt of a state pension contributory from 29 November 2015.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
