2310. Deputy Shane Cassells asked the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the expenditure by his Department on social media advertising and promotional material within the past year in tabular form. [34608/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department's remit includes complex policy areas, oversight of State regulation and service provision across key strategic sectors such as climate action, waste management, energy and public broadcasting, and regulation of sectors such as mining and hydrocarbon exploration. Given the technical complexity, economic significance and community interest in these areas, there is a requirement to disseminate information and to address specific issues as they arise. The Department therefore necessarily incurs some expenditure on social media advertising and online promoted material on these from time to time. The information sought is outlined in the following table.
