Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the estimated cost of making the entire public transport fleet wheelchair accessible; the estimated associated ancillary costs required at stations and so on in order to complete same; the estimated cost by transport mode, that is, bus, rail and Luas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008, the National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for promoting the development of an integrated, accessible public transport network.
