2828. Deputy Aindrias Moynihan asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the waiting times to process applications for domiciliary allowance; the number of applications on hand; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [34544/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraApplications for domiciliary care allowance (DCA) are currently taking approximately 10 weeks to process, with 94% of applications finalised during June completed within this timeframe. The departmental standard for DCA is to have 90% of claims finalised within 10 weeks and this standard has been met consistently over recent months. There are currently some 1,200 applications on hand to be processed, with claims received in mid May being deal with at present.
Over 8,500 DCA applications were finalised in 2018.
