691. Deputy Shane Cassells asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the expenditure incurred in external information technology costs in each year since March 2011, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32303/19]

I am advised that the information sought by the Deputy is being collated and as soon as this exercise is completed I will write to the Deputy on the matter.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 42A

I refer to Parliamentary Question No. 691 of 23 July 2019 requesting the expenditure incurred in external information technology costs in each year since March 2011, in tabular form. As the Deputy will recall, the information requested could not be obtained in the time available and I undertook to contact him again.

The information requested is provided in the following table. These amounts, collated from my Department’s financial reports for the years in question, include Information & Communication Technology (ICT) expenditure for the Department and for agencies/bodies for which the Secretary General of the Department is the Accounting Officer. The categories covered by the reply include all telecommunications and network expenditure, all software applications and systems development, ICT security costs, managed services and infrastructure requirements.
