1317. Deputy Micheál Martin asked the Minister for Health the status of the discussions with St. Vincent’s and Holles Street hospitals in relation to the governance of the new maternity hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36623/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Deputy may wish to note that the Mulvey Agreement, which was agreed following extensive discussions between the National Maternity Hospital and the St Vincent’s Healthcare Group, will provide the basis for the governance arrangements for the new maternity hospital on the St Vincent's Hospital campus. The terms of the agreement provide for the establishment of a new company - National Maternity Hospital at Elm Park DAC - which will have clinical and operational, as well as financial and budgetary independence in the provision of maternity, gynaecology and neonatal services.
