242. Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for Health the cost of the children’s hospital; the estimated total cost of the project; when the project will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [40465/19]
Amharc ar fhreagraI advised Government in December 2018 that the final cost of the design, build and equipment programme for which the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board is responsible for is now at €1,433 million. There has been no change to this figure advised to Government.
The construction phase of the project is underway. The main hospital is scheduled to be completed by late 2022 and, following a period of commissioning, is expected to open to patients in 2023.
