Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of full-time and part-time civil servants his Department has recruited by grade in each of the years 2014 to 2018 and to date in 2019; the number of full-time and part-time civil servants his Department has lost due to retirement by grade in the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The recruitment figures only include staff recruited into the Department and do not include staff promoted internally within the Department or transfers of staff into the Department from elsewhere in the public service on mobility. The retirement figures only include numbers of staff that have retired from the Department and do not include those who have exited the Department through other means, such as resignations, terminations or promotions through external competitions.
