172. Deputy Jack Chambers asked the Minister for Education and Skills the status of the temporary prefabricated accommodation for a school (details supplied) while the permanent buildings are being built; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13104/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraI can confirm that in relation to the school to which the Deputy refers, a contract is due to be awarded this week (commencing 29 June, 2020) for the additional interim accommodation required for the school for the next academic year. However, a decision in relation to planning permission for this additional accommodation is still awaited. It should be noted that these delays are related due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
My Department is in contact with the school Principal and the Patron Body in relation to the matter.
