Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the extent to which he is concerned about the risk to the domestic market for the remainder of 2020 posed by entry to the State by residents of other countries or re-entry by Irish residents; his views on whether Covid-19 testing at points of entry would be an effective way of replacing the quarantine requirement presently in place and an effective way of protecting confidence in the domestic market; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the extent to which consideration has been given to Covid-19 testing at points of entry to the State as an effective way of replacing the quarantine requirement presently in place; the specific findings or recommendations associated with such considerations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 212 and 213 together.

The Government considered the matter of International travel at a meeting on 6 July. The current Department of Health regulations concerning mandatory completion of a passenger location form for arriving passengers and a requirement of 14-day self-isolation are to continue until 20 July when the matter will be reviewed again. The matter of COVID-19 testing at airports is also being kept under review.
